China Threatens Taiwan If They Break Away From ‘Motherland’

(ImpactHeadlines.com) – China is once again putting political pressure on the island nation of Taiwan with a dire threat.

Dong Jun, China’s defense chief, condemned what he called “dangerous separatists” in Taiwan, referring to those who view the island as a sovereign nation. He then said China is ready to “forcefully” go to war with Taiwan.

The chilling announcement comes just one week after China sent dozens of military planes and ships to establish a blockade against Taiwan. China’s military has surrounded every corner of the island during its ongoing drills. Those deployments were accompanied by the release of a propaganda video that simulated a massive attack against the island. It showed the expected fallout of a two-day “punishment” drill after devastating Taiwan with dozens of missiles. Taiwan scrambled a fleet of fighter jets in response.

Dong also accused Lai Ching-te, Taiwan’s new president, of attempting to increase independence from the mainland. Taiwan has repeatedly billed itself as an independent nation, while China insists that the island is a Chinese territory. Dong insists that Taiwan will never be independent.

Tensions between China and Taiwan have been building for decades. Taiwan declared its independence after a civil war in 1949, but China has refused to acknowledge it as a separate country. However, those tensions began ramping up in 2022 after the Chinese Communist Party sent warplanes in an intimidation effort. China also threatened any nation that sides with Taiwan, although the US government called the bluff after sending Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to the nation in August 2022.

Still, China’s military has also been called an “unstoppable force” by experts. The CCP suspended several regulations, many of which still exist in the US, to quickly bolster its manufacturing process. As a result, the west has been unable to match the progression of China’s military development.

China has also threatened economic sanctions against companies and people who refer to Taiwan as an independent country. Those threats prompted actor and wrestler John Cena to apologize after he referred to Taiwan as a country in 2022. He said in his apology that he loves China and its people and did not intended to disrespect the ruling communist party.
